Hi ,
Now that all the festivities are over it is time to think about getting to grips with new shiny cameras.
But first of all I have 2 congratulations to announce.
Congratulations to former guest Ian Meek on his LRPS and I look forward to seeing more qualifications in the near future.
Congratulations to Mike Lloyd would won the 2011 Torridon Break competition judged by external adjudicators. Here is his wining entry The judge commented "This shot was very atmospheric, with subtle colours and had great depth of field."
I'm going to give away a secret here, it was taken on a very foggy morning, we had given up hope of getting a sunrise but at the last minute before we had to go back for breakfast we had a little light.
The camera picked up colours we could only just make out with our eyes. Using the new processing work flow shown on the 3 day break Mike was able to subtly bring out those colours.

The Basics
You have to start somewhere. Why not start with the best? I was a beginner once too and I have boatloads of patience as well as the skills to take you forward.
If you are confused as to which day would be suitable, I would say I plan the Malham days more for beginners. Try the One day Introduction to Landscape Photography Workshop on May 15th 2011.
Landscape
This is the place if you're a landscape photographer. There's nothing more dramatic than the light, the skies and the scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.
Come view the natural world with fresh eyes and improve your technical skills in my Discover Malham Photography Midweek Break Workshop April 26th - 28th.
Also included is a free Digital Processing Workshop, worth £60 using Elements 9, CS5 and other software.
Waterscape
Do you just get to a waterfall, take one shot and then go onto the next location. Let me show you the beauty, the hidden colours and drama in waterfalls.
Become mesmerised by the colours in peat laden water, try different technical skills at the Waterfalls and Barns Day in Swaledale on March 27th 2011.
Take Care
